Very nice vintage 1960's Swiss 17 jewel gold dress Orvin men's wristwatch, running well and keeping time!

We are delighted to offer this beautiful Swiss, vintage 1960's Orvin men's gold dress wristwatch.

It features a gold plated case that measures 1.3" in diameter, excluding crown and lugs that surrounds a beautiful brushed silver dial.

It has gold sword hour and minute hands, center sweep second hand,
black markers and outer chapter, all under a bright, clear crystal.

The reliable 17 jewel, Swiss movement sets and winds as it should, is running well, and keeping very good time.

It has a screw-down back and is matched with a very handsome gold capped stainless steel flex bracelet which compliments it very well.

The Orvin Watch Co
It was founded in the Canton of Bern in Switzerland, where the French-speaking municipality of Bernese Jura is located. There were essentially two movements produced by Orvin, the less sophisticated but equally reliable inexpensive mechanism by Ebauche, and the more highly regarded movement from Cortebert with an import code of XOS.

Originated in the 1940s, The Swiss Orvin watches were luxury watches sold exclusively in the United States by Sears and Roebuck, holding the exclusive trademark for the American arm of the brand from December 1951 through the late 1970s.

For the second half of the 20th century, Orvin started producing reliable tool watches having distinguished itself as a watchmaker and supplier for 17 Jewels Swiss-Made manual wound anti-magnetic shock-resistant military-style gents’ wristwatches. It is equipped with a highly regarded movement from Swiss manufacturer Felsa, Corterbert, and A.Schild right after the second world war when the Swiss watchmaking industry dominated the watch market. It was in the 1960s when divers watches were produced for Orvin and to this day, a few pieces have found their way into watch collections.
