This is a men's vintage 1980's Swiss 17 jewel Croton Aquamatic self-winding wristwatch in excellent condition.

It features a 33.0 mm / 1.29" diameter case, excluding crown and lugs, that surrounds a soft silver dial complimented by bold black breguet hour and minute hands, black center sweep, beautiful raised gold Arabic numbers, black outer chapter and date window @ 3 o'clock with quick set feature.

The Swiss17 jewel movement sets and winds as it should, is running strong, and keeping very good time.

Please remember all automatic (auto-wind) watches must be hand wound or shaken for a period of time to apply pressure to the mainspring to get it started running. Once running and you wear it, WHILE REMAINING ACTIVE, it will continue to wind itself. Once it has stopped, the process must be repeated.

It has a screw-down back and is matched with a new, supple, genuine leather, stitched black strap with gold buckle.

Note: There is some light engraving on the back showing it was awarded to an employee in1980 but it has almost worn off.

    ABOUT CROTON WATCHES:

If the CROTON WATCH CO. were human, there's a good chance it would complain of suffering from a regional identity crisis.

Since the 19th century---when this popular watch brand was established---the Swiss have claimed the line's heart, soul and timing mechanism while Italians took credit for the fashionable, classic designs that distinguish Croton watches from all others.

Regardless of the school of thought to which you ascribe, the amalgamation of two such formidable heritages are likely the reason dyed-in-the-wool aficionados of the Croton brand have refused to wear anything else on their arms since 1878.

While a fairly recent acquisition of the brand by an American conglomerate has shifted the company's headquarters from Europe to the U.S., the continued popularity of Croton Watches hasn't abated, so expect to find the company relying on its old-world reputation and new-world innovation as it marks the company's 150th jubilee in 2028.

We are Stonehenge Watch Company and have been selling vintage timepieces and new watches on the internet for over 18 years with hundreds of happy, satisfied, often repeat customers.
