    ABOUT THE BRAND:

SEMCA, originally known as the Semca Clock Company, was established in the early 20th century. The company primarily produced a variety of clocks, including alarm clocks, and was based in Germany1. They were known for their diverse range of clock styles and continued production until the 1960s or early 1970s.

In addition to clocks, SEMCA also ventured into the watch market for a brief period. Their watches, such as the 17-jewel manual wind models from the 1940s and 1950s, are now considered vintage collectibles . Despite their limited production run, SEMCA watches have a niche following among vintage watch enthusiasts.

SEMCA watches, particularly those from the mid-20th century, have several notable features that make them appealing to vintage watch enthusiasts:

Manual Wind Movements: Many SEMCA watches are equipped with 17-jewel manual wind movements, which were common in the 1940s and 1950s. These movements are known for their reliability and craftsmanship.
Classic Design: SEMCA watches often feature classic and elegant designs, with simple dials and clean lines. This timeless aesthetic makes them attractive to ctors who appreciate vintage style.
Quality Materials: The watches were made with quality materials, including stainless steel cases and durable leather straps, ensuring longevity and durability.
Limited Production: SEMCA’s venture into watchmaking was relatively short-lived, making their watches rarer and more sought after by collectors.
Historical Value: As a company primarily known for clocks, SEMCA’s watches hold a unique place in horological history, adding to their collectible value.
