If you remember America few decades ago, a simpler time in the world, you have an appreciation of the well-made, less-complicated, tools around us, and it brings back fond memories.

Manufactured in the Switzerland by Orvis Watch Company is an excellent example.

This one is a beauty, featuring a rolled gold case that measures 31.2 / 1.24" in diameter, excluding crown and lugs.

The ecru dial is in very good condition and complimented by gold leaf hour and minute hands, gold center sweep second hand, raised gold Arabic numbers and baton markers, and black outer chapter.

The highly regarded 17 jewel incabloc movement, cal. AS221, manufactured by Cortebert, and marked XOS, sets and winds as it should, runs beautifully, and is keeping very good time.

It has a screw-down back and is matched with a new black, embossed, stitched, genuine leather strap with gold buckle.

    ABOUT THE BRAND:

The Orvin Watch company was founded in the Orvin Municipality in the Canton of Bern in Switzerland. It is located in Jura Bernois, the French-speaking Bernese Jura. There were essentially two movements produced by Orvin, the less sophisticated but equally reliable inexpensive mechanism by Ebauche, and the more highly regarded movement from Cortebert with an import code of XOS. The 1950s Swiss Orvin watches were luxury watches sold exclusively in the United States by Sears and Roebuck, holding the exclusive trademark for the American arm of the brand from December 1951 through the late 1970s.

We are Stonehenge Watch Company and have been selling vintage timepieces and new watches on the internet for over 17 years with hundreds of happy, satisfied, often repeat, customers.
