Details
This is an exceptional, WWII, very rare, vintage, 1940's, men's, Hafis Swiss, 7 jewel, manual wind wristwatch in excellent condition.
It features a 15.5 mm /.61" fancy gold plated case, excluding crown and lugs, that surrounds a very well preserved silver dial complimented by beautifully blued hour, minute, and sweep second hands, raised gold numbers, and black outer chapter.
Men should be aware that this is, indeed, a men's watch and dates to a period when much smaller watches were the norm. The size today is very popular with women who appreciate the styling and size of a vintage men's wristwatch.
The 7 jewel Swiss, manual wind movement, signed R. Gsell & Company, sets and winds as it should, is running well and keeping very good time.
It has a snap down back and is matched with a new, genuine leather lizard, 2 piece strap with gold buckle.
Stock code H-14
ABOUT THE BRAND:
F. Suter & Cie (later known as Hafis Watch) was founded in Vienna, Switzerland in 1916 by Fritz Suter-Raetz and his brother.
New-York's R. Gsell & Co. started importing Hafis watches to the USA in 1924.
While the Hafis Watch Company technically existed as late as the 1970s, its heyday was between 1924-1960.
Early Hafis watches were well-built with classic—often quirky—styling.
We are Stonehenge Watch Company and have been selling vintage timepieces and new watches on the internet for over 15 years with hundreds of satisfied customers.
